In short

What a bioclimatic pergola is

A bioclimatic pergola is an aluminium structure whose roof is made of adjustable louvres. Turned, they let in as much light and air as you want; closed, they form a watertight roof that drains rainwater through gutters built into the frame and down the posts. Prices start from €699/m² + VAT, installation included: the exact figure is set out item by item in the written quotation after the survey.

Terrace or rooftop

Shade in the hottest hours without losing the sky, and a roof when an autumn storm arrives.

Garden or poolside

A freestanding pergola on four posts creates an outdoor room where there is no wall to attach to.

Outdoor dining

Integrated lighting and side screens turn a terrace into a dining area you can use in the evening.

Holiday rental

A covered outdoor space is usable on more days of the season, and easier to describe to guests.

How it is built

Four parts that do the work

Louvres

Aluminium blades rotated by a motor, from closed to fully open, to dose sun and ventilation through the day.

Drainage

With the louvres closed, water runs into the perimeter gutters and down inside the posts, away from the people underneath.

Light and comfort

Dimmable LED lighting built into the frame. Rain and wind sensors and heaters are available as options.

Sides

The sides stay open, or close with sliding glass panels, ZIP screens or clear PVC curtains, also at a later stage.

Planning rules depend on the property: in Italy a pergola is not automatically free building work. Size, fixing and protected areas matter, so we check feasibility on your property before the project. VAT is charged at the Italian rate that applies to the property and the work.

Why one point of contact makes the difference

Surveys and installations in the provinces of Bari, Foggia, Barletta-Andria-Trani and Taranto in Puglia, Matera and Potenza in Basilicata and Avellino in Campania, from our operational base in Capurso, near Bari. We reply in English and German, by phone, WhatsApp or through the form.

  • One point of contact, no finger-pointing

You do not have to coordinate a surveyor, a supplier and an installer who blame each other when something goes wrong: you sign one contract with VetratePremium for survey, supply, installation and warranty, with one point of contact from the survey to the final sign-off. If anything is wrong, you already know who answers for it.

  • Free survey, written quotation within 24 hours

A free on-site survey with exact measurements, then a written, itemised quotation within 24 hours, with no obligation to buy. No surprises: if anything changes after the survey, we tell you in writing first.

  • A direct relationship, no hand-offs

You deal directly with VetratePremium from the first measurement to the warranty, with no hand-offs: if you ever need assistance, you call the same number, not a call centre.

  • Specialist installers, installation included

Installation included in the price, carried out by installers specialised in glass enclosures and pergolas, and a final inspection with a signed handover report: the warranty starts from that date.

Questions

Questions about bioclimatic pergolas

How much does a bioclimatic pergola cost in Puglia?
From €699/m² + VAT, installation included. The total depends on size, whether it is wall-mounted or freestanding, lighting, sensors and side closures. You receive the written, itemised quotation within 24 hours of the survey.
Is it watertight when it rains?
With the louvres closed the roof is watertight and the water drains through the gutters and the posts. The sides stay open unless you close them with glass panels or screens.
Can I add glass or screens later?
Yes. Sliding glass panels, ZIP screens and clear PVC curtains can be added at a later stage, if the project allows for them from the start.
Do I need planning permission?
It depends on the property and the area. We check the local rules and any landscape or historic-centre constraints before the project.
Can you handle it while I live abroad?
Yes. Start by sending a few photos of the space and one reference measurement; the survey can be done with a person you trust, and we discuss the choices on the written quotation.
